Daniel Arsham x Tiffany & Co

Talented New York-based multidisciplinary contemporary artist Daniel Arsham continues to bring his personal and unique touch to pieces by major brands. The latest : the iconic « Tiffany Blue » box from the American jeweler, which can hold a bracelet that has also been reinterpreted.

Daniel Arsham has created 49 sculptures of this timeless Tiffany « Blue Box ».

He responded to the request of the famous jeweler with his signature cheek mark : a new shade called « Tiffany Green ». The box is cast in bronze and studded with jagged gold crystals. The eroded look refers to the New York-based designer’s artistic journey : he imagines future relics, mixing the future with the past by metamorphosing cultural objects. This new work is a continuation of Daniel Arsham’s « Future Archeological » art series.

About this reimagined box, the artist explained, « I wanted to present it in a way that was different from the original intention by giving it a tormented, aged image that represents its history. My work imagines a contemporary object as if we had transported it to the future and brought it back. And this time the dislocation creates a kind of paradox in the object itself. You have this thing that you know from your current time, but it looks old. »

In addition to this box, Daniel Arsham has reimagined a bracelet from Tiffany & Co.’s new Knot collection, made of 18-karat white gold and adorned with diamonds and tsavorite, a rare green gem discovered in Kenya and introduced in 1974.

This bracelet can be delivered in one of 49 Daniel Arsham x Tiffany & Co. bronze boxes. Visitors to the Tiffany & Co. flagship store in New York will be able to step inside an interactive « Tiffany Green » box to experience the limited edition Tiffany Knot x Arsham Studio art and jewelry collection.
