British fashion designer Craig Green and adidas continue their successful partnership by unveiling a new silhouette called the CG SCUBA PHORMAR. The innovative shoe is the brainchild of the famous designer and features Green’s first-ever sole unit, which wraps around the foot and features a striated texture inspired by the designer’s quilting style.
Of the new silhouette, Green said : « I’m always interested in evolving design ideas, creating an aesthetic based on form and function. This season we worked closely with adidas to create our first sole, reflecting both our brand’s signature cushioning and the iconic adidas 3-Stripes. We then evolved the stringing system introduced last season to create this brand new style. »
The CG SCUBA PHORMAR is a hybrid silhouette that appears to be the culmination of Craig Green and adidas’ past design projects. Mixing imagination and functionality, it’s inspired by scuba diving shoes. In addition to the designer’s signature insole, the sneaker’s amphibious construction also utilizes iconic elements such as the use of the drawstring system that allows for a secure foot hold, and contrast stitching. The toe box is presented covered in ridged rubber that appears to match the midsole. For its first launch, this silhouette comes in 3 colorways : moss green, deep blue and orange.
The Craig Green x adidas CG SCUBA PHORMAR will be released on December 9, 2021 in stores and online on adidas’ CONFIRMED app for 250$ per iteration.
