A few days ago, I told you in an article available (HERE) about the first collaboration between the Chinese retailer COSTS and the shoes maker CLARKS. This inaugural collaboration is based on the Desert Trek silhouette. It’s part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the model. Named “Tribal Dusk”, the revamped shoe retains its 70’s OG look, while incorporating COSTS’s refined and minimalist aesthetic. This Desert Trek launched by COSTS is a new exploration of personal style and lifestyle to discover the ultimate treasure : ‘everyone can find their own way to express their unique style’.

COSTS aims to reinterpret the trends with a new “mysterious,” “timeless” and “casual” attitude, shaping the classic Desert Trek shoe. This exclusive version is dressed in a new signature brown color of the Clarks Desert Boot and is inspired by ancient totems. It consists of a handcrafted upper made from 2 pieces of suede leather sewn together to increase comfort. To affirm the inspiration, the collar features a laser-printed pattern that expresses the theme, “each totem pole has a unique power and when multiple ancient totem poles come together, incredible power emerges.” The collab is affirmed by the tongue-applied COSTS Anchor logo and trio of leather hangtags featuring branding details including COSTS. The leather heel reinforcement appears in dark brown and the light brown insole is adorned with red lettering. The whole is based on the traditional beige crepe rubber sole.
The COSTS X Clarks Originals Desert Trek “Tribal Dusk” will be released on May 20, 2023 for $316 (RMB 2199) in the COSTS store, on the app and online at costsstore.com.
