The japanese shop ATMOS regularly offers us eye-catching collaborations. In addition to working with major sportswear brands (many articles available on this site), Koji and his team expand their offer by unveiling innovative projects. The latest one was developed with the label COOGI and the Japanese brand MEDICOM TOY.
To prepare us for the upcoming fall season, Atmos has partnered for the very first time with the legendary Australian lifestyle brand COOGI and has reinterpreted the flagship piece of its catalog : the choker sweater with twisted knit and abstract patterns.
It appears declined in 2 significant colorways for each Partner : One of blue color atmos and the other multicolored signature COOGI. Atmos also said that the multicolor version honors A$AP Yams, the rapper, follower of the brand, who passed away in 2015.
These items feature the name ATMOS on the chest. The letters appear multicolored on the blue sweater and blue in color on the multicolored sweater. The COOGI branding is uniquely and simply affixed to the inner label.
Atmos and COOGI also called upon the collectible toy brand MEDICOM TOY to revisit the famous BEARBRICK.
A 100% and 400% set was created. These 2 BEARBRICKs feature the classic COOGI multi-colored pattern on the entire body with a print that mimics the iconic design of the famous sweaters. To ensure the look and assert the collab, ATMOS and COOGI are applied in black and yellow on the torso.
The partners invited rappers linked to « Harlem 125st », where atmos has a store, to participate in the lookbook. We discover Dave east, VADO, A$AP NAST and Ricky bando paying homage to the 90’s and the popularization of the Australian brand in the hip hop scene, thanks to the late New York rapper NOTORIOUS BIG who often wore COOGI sweaters.
The COOGI x atmos and COOGI x atmos x Bearbrick collaborations will be released on September 24, 2022 via a raffle now open on atmos-tokyo.com. Prices are set at $500 (¥71,500) for each sweater and $100 (¥14,300) for the BEARBRICK set. Good luck !
