Concepts x Reebok Question Mid “Draft Class”

After having reworked some of the most famous silhouettes of the sportswear brand New Balance (articles available on this site), the shop CONCEPTS joins the equipment manufacturer Reebok in order to pay tribute to the greatest NBA draft in history. This new opus is based on the number 1 silhouette of that year, the Question Mid.

The 1996 Draft was a pivotal moment in recent NBA history. It introduced new talents such as Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash. More than a third of the first round picks went on to become All-Stars, bringing a youthful vibe to the competition.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the draft was celebrated with the release of the NBA TV documentary “Ready or Not” and now with a tribute sneaker designed by Deon Point and his team.

This special Question Mid has a multi-colored look and is adorned with distinct patterns that reference the jerseys of the NBA teams represented. These include Kobe’s purple and gold on the sides, Steve Nash’s gradient Suns coupled with the iconic embroidered Vector logo on the side, Marcu Camby’s thin Raptors stripes, Antoine Walker’s Celtics green and Grizzlies blue. The shoe is dressed in different colored leather overlays and a red suede toe box. Branding details appear in gold : the vector logo on the top of the blue tongue and the co-branding, Concepts combined with Reebok, on the heel. A white midsole and icy outsole complete the look. To ensure reference to this draft, the outsole portion coming up on the heel is adorned with the numbers 9 on one side and 6 on the other.

The Concepts x Reebok Question Mid “Draft Class” will be released in 2022 at select retailers, cncpts.com and reebok.com for $170. For the latest official details, stay tuned !
