The legendary French outdoor label SALOMON continues to meddle in the world of fashion by presenting a new collab with COMME des GARÇONS. Surfing on their previous successful reinterpretations (article available HERE), the 2 partners offer us the revisited SR90 & SR901E.
These collaborative pairs were first seen at the CdG Spring/Summer 2022 fashion show.
Rei Kawakubo applied her signature minimalist aesthetic to these Salomon models originally intended for outdoor activities.
The new collection consists of 2 silhouettes for a total of 3 colorways.
The SR90 is available in black or white. With a clean, monochromatic look, the classic trail shoe combines cross-country heritage with modern design. It features minimal branding details : a side SALOMON tag, the S logo on the heel and COMME des GARÇONS branding on the insole.
The SR901E is a more technical model. Inspired by mountaineering and cross-country skiing, this shoe is reminiscent of the popular XT-WINGS 2 ADV. It consists of a two-tone white and black upper with a polka dot pattern that extends from the midfoot to the heel. The pair features a tongue overlay with the Salomon « S » logo.
To complete the look and refine the comfort, both models feature an EnergySurge technology midsole and a Contragrip rubber outsole.
The COMME des GARÇONS X SALOMON SR90 & SR901E will be released soon in stores and online at comme-des-garcons.com and shop.doverstreetmarket.com. Prices are set at $245 for each of the SR90 colorways and $295 for the SR901E.
Being collabs with the main CdG line, these sneakers will be produced in men’s and women’s sizes.
