The POKEMON saga continues to be exported beyond the manga and anime universe. It even arouses the interest of big fashion brands. A few days after the release of the assortment designed with Balmain, it’s Comme des Garçons’ turn to highlight Satoshi Tajiri’s iconic work through an exclusive collection.
The 100% Japanese collaboration includes 30 styles of clothing, accessories and a pair of shoes.
We discover a coach jacket, a bomber, a thin quilted jacket, a cardigan, a range of hoodies, shirts and several long and short sleeve t-shirts, as well as a pajama set. On the accessories side, the capsule consists of scarves, a beanie, a bob, necklaces and several types of bags.
These pieces, designed by Rei Kawakubo, are dressed in black and white, the flagship colors of CdG. To affirm the collab, the emblematic yellow character PIKACHU is associated with the CDG logo.
As for the sneakers, CdG and Pokémon have invited the Californian brand Vans to join the project. The trio offers us an exclusive Old Skool in white and neutral gray. The specificity of the pair is the white midsole featuring the CDG monogram and the illustration of PIKACHU.
The Comme des Garçons x Pokémon collection will be released from September 14 to 20, 2022 exclusively in a pop-up store in Tokyo at Isetan Shinijuku. It will then be available on September 23, 2022 in CdG stores and online at cdgcdgcdg.com. Get ready !
