Comme Des Garçons x Nike Carnivore

The Japanese brand Comme Des Garçons is forecasting a year 2021 full of collaborations. After presenting a Nike Blazer Mid designed in partnership with tennis champion Naomi Osaka and a capsule collection developed with Asics (articles available on this site), the fashion label founded by Rei Kawakubo is expanding its projects with Nike. Indeed, during a mini show at CDG’s headquarters in Tokyo presenting the Spring/Summer 2021 HOMME PLUS collection, an Air Carnivore with a futuristic look and in 2 colorways was unveiled.

This Mid shoe, originally released in 1993, retains much of its DNA.  These pairs are monochrome, one white and one black. They consist of neoprene upper that attaches to the ankle with tone-on-tone overlays. We find two Nike adjustable straps and tightening buckles to ensure a secure fit. To add a futuristic touch, these sneakers feature reflective panels and cut-outs along the entire length to reveal parts of the foot. The design is complemented by the Comme Des Garçons HOMME PLUS logo on the heel and insole. The whole is based on a comfortable midsole and a sculpted and adherent outsole.

The Comme Des Garçons HOMME PLUS x Nike Carnivore in white and black colorways will be part of the Spring/Summer 2021 collection. They are scheduled for release in April 2021. More info coming soon, stay tuned…
