The HOMME PLUS section of the iconic COMME des GARÇONS brand unveils a new collaboration that is very current and trendy. After presenting a brand new Nike Air Max 97 during the last fashion show at the brand’s headquarters in Tokyo, Rei Kawakubo and her team have joined forces with New Balance to revisit the popular 550 silhouette.
The lifestyle silhouette of the moment is available in 2 timeless, understated and efficient colorways : white and black.
These 2 NB 550’s are made of cowhide leather and feature matching overlays. Each version features opposite color details, including the 550 branding on the laceguard on both colorways, the N logo outline on the sides of the foot on the black version and the side trim on the white pair. The black sneaker has more color contrast with the white tongue tag and under-ankle band. The CdGH New Balance co-branding can be seen on the heel and insole. Both pairs feature a yellowed midsole coupled with a black outsole.
The COMME des GARÇONS x New Balance 550 will be released in Fall 2022, normally in October, at select retailers and online, including doverstreetmarket.com. For the latest official details, stay tuned !
