The famous British designer Vivienne Westwood continues to modernize sneakers from the archives of the Japanese reference equipment manufacturer, Asics. After bringing her punk/new wave touch to the GEL-Kayano 26 runner (article available HERE), the « enfant terrible of fashion » reinvents the GEL-Kayano 27 LTX.
This latest collaboration is inspired by the world of Westwood and more particularly the latex stockings of the brand. The silhouette adopts a futuristic look and will be offered in 3 colorways : black, orange or lilac.
It has a sock-like construction in semi-translucent TPU, a nod to latex stockings. The design is completed with a zipper at the ankle and co-branding on the side heel. The iconic Tiger Stripes appear as if by transparency on the side panels. The whole is based on a FLYTEFOAM midsole with asics’ patented GEL cushioning and a rubber outsole to match the upper.
The Vivienne Westwood x Asics GEL-Kayano 27 LTX collection will be released on March 20, 2021 at select retailers and on asics.com, priced at 260$ per colorway.
