The Japanese brand WTAPS continues to present us with interesting qualitative collaborations. After partnering with the famous label SUPREME earlier this month (article available HERE), Tetsu Nishiyama’s imprint unveils a 100% Japanese, and even 100% Harajuku, collab with UNDERCOVER.
Jun Takahashi, the founder of UNDERCOVER, and Tetsu Nishiyama are references in Japanese streetwear. Both were very active in the 90s in Harajuku, the cradle of streetwear in their native country. At the beginning of the 2000s, the two companions had created some collaborative products. 20 years later, they offer us a new collection uniting their influences and aptly named « One on One ».
According to posts on the UNDERCOVER and WTAPS Instagram accounts, this capsule focuses on a complete outfit including a coat, jacket, hoodie, adjustable side-zip pants, cap and a pair of high-top sneakers. True to the 2 brands’ clean aesthetic, these pieces are soberly presented in black or navy blue. As for the details, these items are adorned with a special « UNDERCOVER WTAPS 2022 COLLECTION » co-branding, as well as the collab name « One on One » in contrasting white.
The UNDERCOVER x WTAPS « One on One » Collection will be released on January 8, 2022. This is the only information done at the moment.
