Earlier this year, Japanese streetwear pioneers UNDERCOVER and WTAPS teamed up for an exclusive « ONE ON ONE » collection. Today, the 2 partners unveil a second drop as well as a Converse Chuck Taylor 70 Z Hi triple collaborative.
On the apparel side, the UNDERCOVER x WTAPS collection is built around a shirt, 2 styles of oversized black t-shirts and a bucket hat. These pieces adopt a simple, elegant and refined look, faithful to the original aesthetic of the 2 brands.
The shirt is available in white or beige and is adorned with the contrasting black patch « ONE ON ONE » on the button area. The black t-shirt is available in short or long sleeves and features branding tags and the ONE ON ONE mention in white on the bottom part. Beige or black, the bucket hat is adorned with a small white branding tag and the industrial type inscriptions « UNDERCOVER WTAPS 2022 COLLECTION ‘ONE ON ONE’ ».
To complete the outfit, UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi and WTAPS’ Tetsu Nishiyama teamed up with Converse to revisit the Chuck Taylor 70 Z Hi, the « Z » stands for zip closure.
The sneaker consists of a black canvas upper contrasted by exposed white stitching. The look is completed with a metallic silver zipper and white industrial-style branding lettering at the side heel already seen on the bucket hat : « UNDERCOVER WTAPS 2022 COLLECTION ‘ONE ON ONE’ ». The pair features a rubber shell on the off-white toe box, matching the vulcanized sole.
The UNDERCOVER x WTAPS « ONE ON ONE » collection part. 2 will be released on September 17, 2022 in stores and online at store.undercoverism.com. Prices range from $76 (¥1100) to $198 (¥28600). The UNDERCOVER x WTAPS x Converse Chuck 70 Z Hi will be released on October 1, 2022 in stores and online. Don’t sleep !
