Ten days after offering us a collab with artist Nate Lowman (article available HERE), SUPREME is enriching its Spring 2022 collection by teaming up with the animated series Aeon Flux for an exclusive capsule.
Created by Korean-American director Peter Chung, Aeon Flux was first featured on MTV’s experimental animation show Liquid Television in 1991. Captivating audiences with its combination of avant-garde, science fiction and adventure, this animated series has generated a cult following for its visual style and subversive approach to storytelling.
The action takes place in a surreal German expressionist futuristic universe where an environmental apocalypse has wiped out the world’s population. The cities Monica and Bregna are inhabited by mutant creatures, robots and clones. Aeon Flux is a female secret agent from the rebel city of Monica who works to destroy Bregna’s technocratic dictator, Trevor Goodchild.
This collaborative collection pays tribute to the iconic universe of the animated series. It consists of many classic streetwear pieces that have been redesigned to feature illustrations, patterns and replicas from Aeon Flux. The centerpiece is surely a varsity jacket in black or red/brown with the cult phrase « Blink once you’re dead. Blink twice, you’re buried ». The capsule also includes a black or teal sweater, 5 zip-up hoodies (black, brown, turquoise, pink and white), 2 two-tone soccer jersey, co-branded short and long sleeve t-shirts and 3 matching shorts.
The Supreme x Aeon Flux collection will be released on March 31, 2022 at 11am EDT in SUPREME stores and online at supremenewyork.com. It will then arrive on April 2, 2022 in Japan. Don’t sleep !
