One month after unveiling the first official licensed textile collection designed with Paris 2024 (article available HERE), the legendary brand LE COQ SPORTIF presents a collaboration with the Marseille-based artist SOPRANO.
SOPRANO is a rapper from Marseilles who began his career with the Psy 4 de la rime, a group he founded with his cousins and friends in the late 90s. After several projects, he went solo and released his first album in 2007 « Puisqu’il faut vivre » which was a great success. The singer-songwriter has released 5 solo albums and sold over 3 million copies. The popularity of SOPRANO goes beyond the rap scene, he’s one of the most appreciated personalities of the French.
Sharing the same values of surpassing oneself, authentic commitment, the joy of being together and spreading positive messages for youth, Soprano and Le Coq Sportif naturally got together in March 2021. They announced a collaboration « over several seasons » that begins before the artist’s tour of France scheduled for 2022.
The popular rapper and the teams of the French brand exchanged on their jobs, their respective projects and shared an enthusiasm and a desire : chasing the stars, synonymous with will and courage. The result was a wardrobe designed for Soprano’s last two videos « Près des étoiles » and « Dingue ». The artist invites his fans, kids and adults, to join his crew with a complete outfit.
For the footwear, the lyricist was interested in the iconic 30-year-old silhouette this year, the LCS R. Thinking of the whole family, he reinterpreted the LCS R800 for children and the LCS R1000 for adults. These shoes are available in 2 timeless colorways white and black. They consist of a mesh upper complemented by suede and leather overlays in tone on tone. The LCS and “Star Hunter” logos are embroidered with gold thread on each side of the foot. To affirm the inspiration, the usual LCS tongue and heel branding is dressed in gold, and a speckled pattern on the heel area recalls the starry sky. The white version is adorned with a fully matching sole, and the black iteration benefits from a black midsole coupled with a white outsole.
The entire Soprano x LE COQ SPORTIF collection, including the LCS R1000 and LCS R800, will be released on September 1, 2021, at all COURIR and LE COQ SPORTIF stores, as well as online at @courir.com and @lecoqsportif.com. Don’t sleep !
