After offering us a workwear collection with Leopard and Alligator patterns (article available HERE), the retailer SNS continues on the « Animal » theme by unveiling a collaboration with New Balance called « Blue Racer ». This collection is inspired by the snake of the same name and includes the NB 237 silhouette and matching apparel.
As the name suggests, the Blue Racer is a non-venomous snake that is blue in color with a white belly and grey highlights. It lives mainly in North America, particularly in Ontario, and is an endangered species.
The pieces in this capsule pay tribute to this reptile. They are dressed in a harmonious color palette mixing grey and blue with a touch of black and fuchsia pink.
The NB 237 sneaker features a premium construction and elegant design. It consists of a grey mesh upper with hairy suede overlays in a lighter shade on the forefoot and midfoot, and in a dark grey hue on the heel. To symbolize the famous Blue racer, the iconic side N logo and heel tab are covered in a blue and black snakeskin pattern. The design is completed with fuchsia pink branding details, as well as a beige lining and tongue. The whole is based on a white midsole with beige under heel upper, and a black studded outsole.
The apparel capsule includes a rain jacket, two tracksuits and two t-shirts. The latter are offered in white or black and have an illustration of the Blue racer on the back. The other garments are embellished with the coupled brandings, SNS in pink fuchsia and NB blue or silver depending on the item. The first tracksuit is made of light grey mottled cotton fleece, while the second is made of polyester and is fully covered with the blue and black snakeskin pattern. The rain jacket appears in solid blue.
The SNS x New Balance « Blue Racer » collection will be released on June 11, 2021 at sneakersnstuff.com and newbalance.com. Registration for the raffle is now open on the SNS app. Prices are set at 120€ for the shoe, 160€ for the rain jacket, 45€ for the t-shirt, 120€ for the cotton hoodie and 90€ for its matching pant. The tracksuit jacket costs 130€ and its pant 100€. Don’t sleep !
