For several years, the links between soccer and fashion have been tightened and some beautiful collaborations have resulted. For example, a few months ago, the Californian brand STÜSSY celebrated the opening of its new Parisian store by designing a special PSG jersey (article available HERE) and more recently Arsenal unveiled a jersey inspired by the Notting Hill carnival. Ajax Amsterdam and their sponsor ADIDAS have trusted the iconic local streetwear brand DAILY PAPER to fashion a complete pre-game collection for the 22-23 season.
For their 1st collaboration launched at the end of August, the partners had unveiled the 3rd Ajax jersey. Gold colored with a red and black vertical stripe, this piece revisits the theme of the Amsterdam city flag.
Now, Daily Paper, adidas and Ajax are extending their partnership and presenting a complete pre-match kit.
The collection celebrates the diverse cultures and communities of the Dutch capital.
It consists of pieces inspired by East African art. The men’s and women’s jersey, tracksuit and long-sleeved warm-up top come in black and feature a reinterpretation of traditional African beadwork in a red, green and black graphic print. The capsule also includes a black co-branded hoodie and a black, red and green scarf featuring the Daily Paper white branding and logo.
