Iconic Amsterdam shop PATTA continues to raise the bar on collaborative projects. After simply killing the game by redesigning the legendary Nike Air Max 1 or the New Balance 990v3, Edson Sabajo and Gee Schmidt reunited with the CONVERSE brand for an exclusive capsule. As an added bonus, the PATTA founders have invited the famous American singer-songwriter, producer and actress Erykah Badu to give life to the campaign of this new collab.
Named « 4 Leaf Clover », this exclusive collection is inspired by the notion of luck, passion and the effort required to achieve success. Finding a 4 leaf clover is quite rare, so it serves as a symbol and illustrates the message the partners are trying to convey through this collab.
The collection includes a limited edition version of the Converse One Star Pro sneaker and a 4-piece apparel assortment.
The revamped silhouette has a more ‘roots’ look. It consists of a dark brown furry suede upper contrasted by white stitching at the overlays. The Patta branding adorns the tongue tag in a matching shade of brown and the side One Star logo now features a green 4-leaf clover embroidery. To finalize the design, the special wording ‘4 LEAF CLOVER’ is printed in white all along the black band over the white midsole.
On the textile side, we discover utilitarian style pieces, co-branded and decorated with embroidered patterns. The capsule features an oversized washed grey t-shirt with a vintage look and an imposing co-branding on the back, a black hoodie with a zipper and this exclusive co-branding on the back, a padded sleeveless jacket in brown/green tones, and black pants with cargo pockets.
Erykah Badu was photographed by Shaniqwa Jarvis to showcase the collaborative pieces. PATTA and CONVERSE enlisted the help of this renowned artist who has redefined the neo-soul genre and made her own luck with her talent, passion and effort. She perfectly illustrates the theme of the collection. The creator of the legendary track ‘On & On’ stands out for her organic approach in everything she does, far from the current commercialism and quick hits. Like the 4-leaf clover, she’s rare !
