At the beginning of June, Jordan Brand began to unveil its annual « Quai 54 » collection by presenting the AJ 35 Low and AJ 5 silhouettes (articles available on this site). The full collection is presented today. Double blow for the American equipment manufacturer, it has also designed the official jersey of the French Basketball team, men and women, for the Summer Olympics to be held in Tokyo. To complete the effort, a collection of clothing is also offered.
Jordan Brand wanted to highlight the team spirit, unity and fraternity conveyed by basketball. Paying particular tribute to the great diversity of French basketball talent, the Jumpman brand has developed a collection based on both performance and lifestyle. It created a geometric pattern inspired by traditional African fabrics and gave it a Parisian touch to match the energy of the event and its huge community.
In addition to the AJ 35 Low and AJ 5 Mid, we discover an Air Jordan 1 dedicated to this tournament. It consists of a white upper with black overlays and side Swoosh. The look is completed with two-tone laces, a collar featuring the new « Quai 54 » pattern and red graphic accents on the heel finishes. A white midsole paired with a black outsole completes the design.
A range of clothing using the color palette chosen for the sneakers : black, white and red, is offered in men’s and women’s sizes. We find the great classics such as shorts, jerseys and t-shirts as well as accessories related to basketball.
Jordan Brand has also developed the French jersey for the Tokyo Summer Olympics, which will take place from July 21 to August 7, 2021. Evan Fournier, guard and number 10 of the French men’s basketball team, said : « The jersey remains in the continuity of the previous Jordan x FFBB (French Basketball Federation) collaborations that we have known: sober and elegant. The design is effective, and it is up to us to be just as effective on the court this summer ». Basketball player Marine Johannès, who plays guard and wears the number 23 of the national team, added : « Representing our country is always a great pride for us, but doing it under Jordan’s colors is even more special. We can’t wait to be able to wear this new jersey and to make the colors of France shine once again ». On the way to the medal !
This jersey appears in the colors of the French flag : blue, white, red. The blue base is contrasted by lateral bands, red on the left side and white on the right. The French flag stands out on the chest alongside the famous white Jumpman. A sportswear collection accompanies this jersey. It includes hoodies, jackets, t-shirts and shorts, always in the colors of the French flag and can be decorated with the iconic « coq français » motif.
The French team jersey & sportswear collection will be released first on July 3rd 2021 on nike.com. It will take a few more days for the Jordan Brand « Quai 54 » Collection to be available. It will launch on July 8, 2021 at the House of Innovation in Paris and arrive two days later on July 10, 2021 on nike.com. Don’t sleep !
