A few days before last Christmas, JJJJOUND teased an upcoming collab with the iconic Japanese brand BAPE (article available HERE). Justin Saunders, the founder of the Montreal-based design studio, brings details about the content of this collection that will be released this weekend.
In addition to a reinterpreted BAPE STA silhouette, this exclusive capsule includes 2 classic streetwear pieces, a hoodie and a short sleeve tee.
It represents a harmonious balance between the seemingly opposite identities of the 2 partners : the bold styles and iconic graphic prints of BAPE with the avant-garde approach and minimalist aesthetic of JJJJOUND.
These BAPE silhouettes are dressed in a simple color palette of grey and white that JJJJOUND loves.
The BAPE STA collaborative shoe features a white calf leather upper with matching overlays. This base is enhanced by grey colored elements, such as the iconic BAPE side shooting star logo and heel tab featuring JJJJOUND branding. The pair benefits from 2 sets of round laces, white and beige, with branded aglets. The whole is based on a white midsole coupled with a grey outsole, which ensures the harmony of the design.
On the apparel side, the cotton fleece hoodie is offered in grey and adorned with a beige BAPE logo reinterpreted « A TASTEFUL APE ». The signature of JJJJOUND is distinguished on the discreet beige label sewn on the central pocket. The 100% cotton t-shirt arrives in reverse color : white with the reinvented logo tinted grey. The beige JJJJOUND tag appears on the side seam and the iconic Ape Head on the sleeve.
