Nike’s skateboarding division unveils a new collaboration based on the iconic Dunk Low model. This new collection was developed with the streetwear brand HUF, of the late former pro skateboarder Keith Hufnagel.
Teased since May, the complete capsule has been made official. It celebrates the 20 years of the HUF label and pays tribute to its founder who unfortunately died of a brain tumor in September 2020 at the age of 46.
Keith Hufnagel was a reference of the skateboarding scene in the 1990s. At the age of 4, he began to skate in the streets of New York. A few years later, he became a professional in California and was sponsored by major brands of this discipline as Real Skateboards, Thunder Trucks or Spitfire Wheels. At the end of his career, in 2002, he opened with his wife his first store in San Francisco named HUF, which they then declined in clothing brand.
Nike SB celebrates the 20 years of HUF with an exclusive pack of Dunk Lows. This capsule collection includes 3 versions : « NYC » which celebrates Keith Hufnagel’s hometown, « San Francisco » which marks the beginning of his pro career and the creation of his shop, and a « Friends & Family ».
The 1st pair comes in a combination of white and blue, the 2nd in black/white and the 3rd in shades of grey with touches of apple green and with a tie dye print on the quarter panel, a nod to the SB Dunk High collab released in 2004. These shoes are made from grained leather and feature HUF branding on the toe box. The latter is adorned with a small metallic Swoosh to elegantly assert the collab. The iterations that honor New York and San Francisco feature the name of the city they represent on the tongue tag, while the F&F pair features the words « Wait ! What ? » and « HUF » on the heels. The other 2 versions honor the late skateboarder with the inscriptions « Keith » « Forever » on the heel tabs. Two-tone soles matching the uppers and overlays harmoniously finalize the design. The pairs will be delivered in specially designed boxes.
