The famous Japanese boutique ATMOS has once again teamed up with the world-famous lifestyle brand GUESS. The Tokyo shop also invited the Japanese singer Fukase from the group SEKAI NO OWARI, to join this collaboration through his animated series « BAD MOOD ».
A new collection elaborated in triple collaboration is thus presented to us today. It’s inspired by one of the characters of BAD MOOD : Moth, the narcissist. We find his colors, associated with the iconic GUESS triangle logo.
But first, a little explanation about the animation project « BAD MOOD » : This is a series supervised and designed by Fukase, with Noaki Wada as artistic director. It tells the story of a fictional music group « The Pink Elephants » composed of 5 members : Fishman, Butt, Rabbit, UFO and the famous Moth from which today’s collection is inspired. This animated series depicts the world today with a touch of irony… for an informed audience!
An atmos x BAD MOOD collaboration with the Italian brand FILA, based on the Floater silhouette, was presented in December 2020. It featured the Rabbit character (article available on this website).
This collection presents pieces with a pop and nostalgic design. They take the colors of Moth in the GUESS branding revisited and associated with atmos. The legendary triangle appears filled with rhinestones. It’s adorned with turquoise-blue outlines and a pink background, with the marks written in white and the question mark appearing in turquoise or pink depending on the item. This collection includes three pieces, including a dark blue denim jacket with a vintage 90’s cut and a removable white sheepskin collar. The re-imagined GUESS logo adorns the back of this jacket. We find also an oversized hoodie available in two colors, black or white, with a triangle logo on the chest. To finish, a long-sleeved t-shirt, black or white, is proposed to us. It’s adorned with the logo on both sides, on the front in mini version with the coupled brandings and on the back in imposing model and decorated with the question mark.
For the launch of this triple collaboration collection, a character dressed in one of these clothes will appear in the third episode « Ringo no Right » of the series BAD MOOD which will be released in early March.
The GUESS x atmos x BAD MOOD collection will be released in most ATMOS stores and atmos-tokyo.com on March 6, 2021, before being available in selected Japanese GUESS stores and online on March 13, 2021. Prices are set at 155€ for the denim jacket, 100€ for the hoodie and 60€ for the long-sleeved t-shirt.
