Collection District Division x New Balance

In addition to upcoming high-quality collections and eye-catching collabs (several items available on this site), the New Balance brand is committing to promoting mental health by partnering with District Vision.

The equipment manufacturer and the Los Angeles-based multi-disciplinary brand are working together to offer mental health awareness runs, as well as an exclusive footwear and apparel collection.

Based in Los Angeles and founded by friends Tom Daly and Max Vallot in 2016, District Vision is an eyewear, apparel and meditation brand. It expands the notion of physical and mental wellness through sports, and is committed to making that environment more conscious.

Daly and Vallot explain : « We both (District Vision and New Balance) operate at the intersection of technology and spirit, one reinforces the other. New Balance understands that running can be an essential pathway to mental wellness if it is coupled with an inquisitive and open mindset – that’s where we come in. Mindful running isn’t just a temporary fix or a form of escapism, it’s a way to transform our outlook on life by bringing awareness to everything we do. It’s not just about chasing the waves, it’s about surrendering to the music of the ocean. »

The partners hope to provide mental wellness education through several runs motivated by New Balance athletes. For the first runs, Emily Sission and Brenda Martinez explain their methods for overcoming stress and mental obstacles.

On the footwear side, the New Balance FuelCell RC Elite v2 silhouette comes to us in 2 timeless monochrome palettes. These white or black pairs feature a breathable mesh upper, complemented by multiple small tonal inserts that add flair to these exclusive editions. The side panels are adorned with « District Vision New Balance Center for Inner Peace » co-branding details and the red NB logo. The whole is based on a FullCell midsole that provides excellent rebound, combined with a full-length carbon fiber plate that promotes energy return and propulsion. The design is finished off with a lightweight rubber outsole for traction and durability.

The apparel collection includes running essentials with the same clean style as the sneakers. There’s a compression jacket, sherpa anorak, hoodie, shorts and a running tank top. Available in white or black with touches of red, these pieces feature organic patterns hand-drawn by the famous artist Filip Pagowski, known for creating the COMME des GARÇONS PLAY logo. They also feature the co-branded label seen on the « District Vision New Balance Center for Inner Peace » shoes.

The District Division x New Balance collection will be released on March 17, 2022 exclusively on the California-based brand’s website districtvision.com before a worldwide release via newbalance.com on March 24, 2022. Runs are already available online !
