Collection capsule Foot Locker de Melody Ehsani

In March, Los Angeles-based designer Melody Ehsani became the first Creative Director of Foot Locker’s women’s department. An inaugural capsule collection is being offered today.

This capsule is the first launch of a series of collections that will punctuate the rest of the year. The sportswear retail giant wanted to bring the modern basketball essence of Melody Ehsani to its women’s line. Patricia Respress, Foot Locker’s vice president and head of women’s footwear and apparel merchandise, said, « Melody’s partnership and belief in the empowerment of women through streetwear and sports is a perfect fit for the brand ».

Foot Locker’s first ME (Melody Ehsani) collection is inspired by and pays homage to Mother Nature. It includes basketball-inspired silhouettes such as fleece workout shorts and t-shirts, a biker bra and shorts in a durable polyester and elastane blend, a reimagined tracksuit set in a sheer style and a matching short-sleeve shirt. The color palette ranges from white and blue to the Lakers’ signature purple and yellow. Some pieces feature basketball prints, others a globe motif.  The designer explains, « I worked with my friend Norblack Norwhite on some of the pieces. We used thermal patterns that refer to the planet Earth, the feminine inspiration we all seek ».

For her visuals, Melody Ehasani chose to highlight the Woman with a capital F, of all sizes, weights and backgrounds.

Melody Ehsani’s Foot Locker capsule collection is available since June 11, 2021, in stores and online at footlocker.com. Prices range from 40 to 80$.
