After recently teaming up with Takashi Murakami (article available HERE), the iconic NEW ERA brand unveils a new collaboration highly anticipated by K-pop music fans. The world’s leading cap manufacturer has teamed up with Korean band BTS and Major League Baseball to design an exclusive collection.
The 7 members of the boy band BTS, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook, love baseball. Admirers of the American league, they themselves have participated in many games in their country and have a partnership with MLB Korea.
This capsule pays tribute to this passion and seamlessly integrates songs from the group.
It includes baseball caps with the coolera system (a material that manages perspiration by wicking and dispersing it quickly), bucket hats and t-shirts.
3 sets of pieces are offered.
A 1st « L.A » honoring the tube « DYNAMITE ». A cap and a bucket hat are declined in beige or night blue and are decorated with multicolored borders : L.A on the front and DYNAMITE on the back. A midnight blue t-shirt and a two-tone purple/cream t-shirt with the same embroidery on the chest complete the set.
The 2nd « NY » set consists of au university blue cap and a faded grey cap with 4 t-shirt colorways : college blue, white, grey and black. These items are adorned with the NY logo and a grapism of the hit song « Black Swan ».
The last set « Red Sox » reinterprets the B logo of the Boston team under the influence of the title « Butter » of the Korean music group. We find a beige cap with the special « B » embroidered on the front and 2 versions of t-shirts, one black and one white, with a melted butter « B » and the name Butter printed on the sleeve.
The BTS x MLB x New Era collection will be released on May 13, 2022 on the New Era Japan website: neweracap.jp. Prices range from $36 (¥4730) to $50 (¥6600).
