Last week, the prestigious fashion and lifestyle brand of Teddy Santis AIME LEON DORE presented us a beautiful Clarks Originals Wallabee in beige colorway (article available HERE). This pair is actually part of a collaborative collection including 3 other versions : black, gourmet orange and fir green.
The classic and timeless silhouette of the cult British label CLARKS receives the special touch of ALD that can be described as « elegant streetwear ».
The shoe is handmade in Portugal with a responsibly designed material : high quality Casentino Italian curly wool (and not fluffy fleece, as one might have thought when the beige pair was exclusively released on Instagram). The wool parts are gathered by a high-quality leather collar in tone-on-tone. The laces and double tags embellished with gold CLARKS branding also appear in color matching the vamp. A mini tag of branding AIME LEON DORE in black color is sewn under the ankle and a beige leather inner lining completes the neat and elegant design of the pair. The whole is based on the mythical crepe sole signature of the British label.
The Wallabee is an essential model of the East Coast hip hop movement. It reached its peak on the streets of New York in the 90s and early 2000s, especially in the Queens neighborhood where Teddy Santis and ALD are from. With a nod to this heritage, the two partners have chosen a major figure in the world of rap to highlight this new and limited collection, the highly respected rapper Nasir « NAS » Jones. Wearing the 4 colorways in the lookbook, the artist also from Queens, brings the final touch of authenticity to this collaboration.
The Aimé Leon Dore x Clarks Originals Wallabee Collection will be released in an exclusive limited edition on November 20, 2020 on the ALD Shop website aimeleondore.com, before a more global release on November 25, 2020 at selected retailers. Be ready !
