While all sneakerheads are eagerly awaiting the release date of the upcoming Patta x New Balance 990v3, the iconic Amsterdam shop unveils a new 100% Dutch collaboration that will serve the community. Patta has partnered for the 1st time with AVANT ARTE, the creative marketplace that makes the discovery and ownership of art more accessible, but also with PARRA, another iconic designer based in the capital of the Netherlands.
The 3 titans of Amsterdam offer us a printed work called « When the Smoke Clears », silk-screened and hand-signed.
It depicts a woman sitting in front of a body of water in a wooded landscape. This piece is made in PARRA’s signature style, with the artist’s own colors, lines and shapes.
This collaboration was a long-time desire of Christian Luiten and Curtis Penning, who founded AVANT ARTE in 2015 on Instagram (nearly 2.5 million followers to date). Through this account, Christian and Curtis shared the work of artists they admired. PARRA is among their favorites. In fact, Christian Luiten’s first art acquisition was a work by the famous Amsterdam designer. Coming from a small town, no museum or art gallery visits for the two founders who discovered art through Kanye West’s lyrics and album covers. However, they have long admired and worn PATTA clothing.
To celebrate this triple collaboration, the iconic streetwear shop will host a pop-up at Zeedijk 93, Amsterdam where a limited edition of 500 exclusive art t-shirts and 60 shadow prints of « When the Smoke Clears » will be available.
The off-white t-shirt features a brightly colored print on the back, corresponding to a cutout of the original artwork. It’s framed with the phrase « WHEN THE SMOKE CLEARS YOU CAN SEE THE SKY AGAIN » and features triple branding. On the chest, the PATTA and PARRA logos have been combined to symbolize the values of unity and collective strength.
« When the Smoke Clears » will be available for 48 hours only, from Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 6:00 pm to Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 6:00 pm on the avantarte.com website. The price is set at 250€.
The pop-up organized by PATTA will take place from Saturday September 24, 2022 to Sunday September 25, 2022. Doors will be open from noon to 6 pm. Piet Parra will be present. Let’s go !
The profits from the sales will be donated to the PATTA ACADEMY, a talent school created by PATTA to stimulate young entrepreneurs and help them realize their dreams.
