Collaboration NIGO x NIKE

The Japanese designer NIGO has been an essential name in streetwear and fashion for 3 decades. The founder of BAPE and HUMAN MADE, now artistic director of KENZO, has had one success after another. According to the first news, he seems to have a new big project in preparation. The iconic designer would have signed an agreement with NIKE.

In addition to offering exclusive products very sought after, NIGO has already collaborated with major brands like ADIDAS, CdG, Uniqlo or G-Shock. Despite his impact in the streetwear/sportswear world, the Japanese designer had not yet teamed up with NIKE. He has remained loyal to the ‘Three Stripes’ for most of the last 2 decades.

NIGO has always appreciated the designs of the Swoosh brand. The most obvious example is the reinterpretation of the iconic Nike Air Force 1 into a widely popular (and still controversial) model : the BAPE STA, which appears to be an improved version of Bruce Kilgore’s design.

According to news relayed by Complex, NIGO and Nike have agreed to a partnership based on the creation of a new sneaker.

The official details have not yet been released but we remember seeing NIGO with a pair of Nike Go FlyEase on the feet on the Instagram account of Verdy. Could it be a little nod to the model in preparation ? We have to Wait and see !

The first ever collaboration between NIGO and NIKE is expected to officially see the light of day in a few months, sometime in 2024. We will keep you informed of the latest official news, stay tuned!
