The rumor is confirmed : the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 « Kiss of Death » will make a comeback in 2021. First announced in 2013 version by the well informed account @py_rates in July 2020 (article available HERE), the return of this original collaboration dating from 2006 was unveiled by the unavoidable DJ Khaled on his Instagram account.
The famous AM1 revisited by Hong Kong CLOT will be reissued to celebrate its 15th anniversary. This news should delight the sneakerheads who did not have the chance to cop the initial version, whose price was multiplied by 10 (at least) on the parallel market sites.
The shoe, which celebrated the opening of the ACU boutique in 2006 and whose design paid tribute to CLOT’s Chinese roots, is coming back in a slightly modified form. We discover a red heel reinforcement that appeared in orange on the original iteration. It’s also adorned with reverse-color branded details. The most striking change is the outsole, which has been reworked and modernized. It’s made of semi-translucent rubber that shows the colored print of a human foot with well-defined areas reminiscent of foot reflexology. For the rest of the design, we find the beige suede base, the translucent toe box, the red lateral Swoosh with a snakeskin effect and the bright orange midsole. Green top eyelets on a white background and a tongue label in these two shades finalize the design.
The CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 « Kiss of Death » will be released on March 6, 2021, on nike.com and at selected retailers for a suggested retail price of 140€. Be ready !
