Berlin skate shop Civilist continues to revisit the popular Nike SB Dunk Low silhouette. After presenting us with a « Cement » type version in May (article available HERE), the two partners are now unveiling a surprising iteration. At first glance, this next Civilist x Nike SB Dunk Low seems to have a very simple design. But then, it offers a nice surprise when it is put in contact with heat.
The shoe presented today is inspired by thermography, which means « writing with heat ». This process consists of reproducing images from invisible thermal radiation. Thus the sneaker appears simply dressed in black. However, the black leather upper is embellished with full thermal imaging in multicoloured tones of red, yellow, green and blue, which appears in contact with heat. The colour black remains important in the design of the shoe, it’s used to define the inner lining, the stitching and the small Civilist branding label sewn under the side swoosh. To ensure the best matchings, the pair is delivered with the basic black laces, but also with 3 sets of blue, red and yellow. The whole is based on a white midsole and a black outsole.
This Civilist x Nike SB Dunk Low « Thermography » should be available before the end of 2020, at Civilist and other selected skate shops, as well as on Nike.com. The price should be around 100€. Stay tuned…
