The French outdoor brand SALOMON continues to generate a lot of interest from international fashion, streetwear and lifestyle labels. A few days after the release of the XT-4 designed with the Italian shop Slam Jam (article available HERE), a new XT-6 appeared at the « AREA AREA » Spring Summer 2023 show of the Japanese brand CHILDREN OF THE DISCORDANCE (CotD).
This new collaboration seems to be a three-headed one. In addition to the brand founded by Hideaki Shikama, the Chinese label COSTS participated in this exclusive project with Salomon.
The revamped XT-6 sports a look that mixes performance and fashion.
Made from strong and sturdy materials, it consists of an upper covered with a signature Paisley print already present on some textile pieces of the CotD collection presented. This print combines white and light pink graphics on a black base. To complete the design, the side overlays are detailed in white, with the SALOMON branding printed on the heel counter, and an orange stripe wraps around most of the foot. The tongue features partner branding, with white and orange « DISCORDANCE EXPLORATION » running the length of the tongue and « COSTS » in black over the white tag. The whole is based on a comfortable, high-performance ACS midsole from Salomon in white, coupled with a black Contagrip outsole that provides grip and stability.
The Children of the Discordance x COSTS x Salomon XT-6 is expected to be released in early 2023 in correlation with the launch of CofD’s SS23 « AREA AREA » collection on the Japanese brand’s website childrenofthediscordance.com and then on salomon.com. The price should be around $190, stay tuned !
