The German giant ADIDAS celebrates the 30th anniversary of its technical line EQT with a series of collaborations and the reissue of OG models, 16 in total. After discovering some projects, like the last one with the shop EXTRA BUTTER (article available HERE), the brand with the 3 Stripes sets up a microsite « Life Needs Equipment » to present the complete collection.
Launched in 1991, the EQT line was designed by 2 former Nike designers, the iconic Robert Strasser and Peter Moore. The goal of this line was to regain market share in the United States and seriously compete with the Beaverton giant. In addition to silhouettes dedicated to running, EQT allowed ADIDAS to broaden its scope by creating performance shoes for other sports such as tennis, soccer, rugby, handball or golf. It was a great success. The functionality of the EQT range seduced a large number of sportsmen and women and the choice of colors and materials by the 2 designers brought another strong vision of the German brand. ADIDAS EQT introduced the famous « Sub Green » colorway that has since become a cult favorite in both sports and lifestyle. The Three Stripes logo initially specific to the EQT range then appeared beyond the footwear collections and was even deviated into a fashion motif.
To celebrate its 3 important decades, ADIDAS invited big names in sneaker design from around the world to add their touch to silhouettes from the EQT range, such as the CSG Equipment 91 or the Equipment Prototype. Shops include ATMOS, OVERKILL, Mita Sneakers, Solebox, Foot Patrol, EXTRA BUTTER, Limited Edt and Politics. OG models will be back and will also be offered.
