To celebrate Air Max Day 2022, New York-based design studio CEEZE has created a special, ultra-limited Air Max 1. This brand new version pays tribute to Brooklyn’s most famous rapper : the late Notorious Big, and will be released 1 day after the 25th anniversary of his posthumous cult album, « Life After Death ».
Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious Big aka Biggie Smalls, was known and recognized for his unusual flow and words, but also for his look that could be described today as streetwear chic. He innovated by combining baggi jeans with knitted sweaters from the lifestyle brand Coogi.
CEEZE worked with Brooklyn’s Elite Williamsburg restaurant and the D’ussé cognac brand to come up with this custom AM1.
The Tinker Hatfield design features an off-white canvas upper with matching napa leather overlays and a gold patent leather side Swoosh. Honoring Biggie’s famous outfits, this pair benefits from a multicolored mudguard surrounding the foot, designed from a vintage Coogi sweater. As for the rest of the design, the inner lining appears in cream-colored lambskin leather, the Ussé logo is emblazoned on the heel and the ELITE restaurant name replaces the usual Nike branding on the gold patent leather tongue tag. The whole is based on a pure white midsole and a black rubber outsole.
The Ceeze x Nike Air Max 1 « Coogi » will be released on March 26, 2022 in an ultra-limited edition of 22 pieces via the New York studio’s online store ceezemc.com. The pairs will be made to order and will take 3 to 5 months to be delivered. The price is set at 2022$.
