The 2 strong partners CASABLANCA and NEW BALANCE unveil a new version of the XC-72 silhouette. Released in 2 flagship colorways at the end of last August (article available HERE), the shoe designed by Charlotte Lee is now offered in solid white.
About the design, Charaf Tajer and Steve Grimes said : « Since we started working on the collaboration, we’ve dubbed it the ‘sports car for your feet’ because it evokes that first time feeling you had when you saw a luxury car as a child. You knew it was a car, but it was different from any car you had seen before. It’s a feeling, a sense of wonder, designed to perform, designed to be special. »
The silhouette was previewed earlier this year by CASABLANCA’s art director, Steve Grimes. Like the popular NB 327 and 237, this XC-72 was designed by Charlotte Lee, the brand’s English designer. Charlotte Lee created the shoe with a lifestyle feel, embodied by a sleek and stylish midsection and rubber side cushions inherited from motorsport equipment.
The sporty-looking high-end sneaker is clad in a white color block constructed from a mix of suede and perforated leather. To add a vintage touch, the white mesh tongue hints at its foam and the co-branding is applied in yellow and green. The inner lining, heel clip and midsole are harmoniously dressed in the white color. The characteristic spiked and rising outsole on the sides is presented in marshmallow white to thoroughly finalize the look.
The Casablanca x New Balance XC-72 « White » will be released on December 11, 2021 at select retailers such as BSTN and on the 2 partner sites : casablancaparis.com and newbalance.com, priced at 150$.
