The Bangkok boutique CARNIVAL is once again teaming up with Japanese equipment manufacturer Asics to add its touch to the popular and successful GEL-Kayano 5 360 silhouette.
In 2019, a revisited GEL-DS Trainer OG, named « Muay Thai », was created by the two partners (article available HERE). The shoe presented today remains in connection with this previous collaboration, through its color palette.
The sneaker, inspired by the design of the runners of the early 90s, consists of an upper combining white mesh, grey leather and beige suede. This base is enhanced by blue accents such as the Tiger stripes and the heel tab, as well as touches of red scattered throughout the shoe, especially on the inner lining and the contours of the tongue label. The Asics logo is found on the back of the heel and on the tongue, while CARNIVAL branding adorns the side area under the ankle. To ensure optimal comfort and support for stable movement, the center part of the sole is embellished with TRUSSTIC resin. The whole is based on a molded, lightweight and bouncy midsole in grey color with 360° GEL technology, combined with a red and blue outsole, providing the final touch to the design.
The Carnival x Asics GEL-Kayano 5 360, already released in the United States, should arrive very soon in Europe at selected retailers, for a price around 180€. More details to come, stay tuned !
