After offering us a collaborative « Sculpture Center » collection with NEW BALANCE for the back-to-school season, the iconic brand CARHARTT WIP offers us a special capsule for the holiday season designed with Liberty Fabric.

Liberty is the name given to a small shop on Regent Street in London in 1875. Its founder, Arthur Lasenby Liberty, son of a clothier, borrowed 2000£ from his future father-in-law to set up his first business. At first, he distributed Chinese porcelain and furniture fabrics from the British colonies. The success is immediate, the shop is at the forefront of design and decorative arts. Today, Liberty Fabric is an international wholesale business, working with retailers, brands and designers of women’s, men’s, children’s and home furnishings. Designed by an in-house team in the heart of London, printing takes place in the brand’s Northern Italian factory, which uses both innovative digital technology and time-honored techniques. From meticulously refined Tana Lawn cotton and luxurious silk to lightweight linen, Liberty fabrics are brilliant canvases for bespoke designs of all kinds.

For the holiday season, CARHARTT WIP has partnered with LIBERTY FABRIC for a 5-piece capsule (3 of which are exclusive to the London shop).

Drawing inspiration from the American brand’s workwear style and the London-based shop’s rich archives, a set of pajamas was created. The shirt’s patch pockets nod to a classic Carhatt WIP chore coat, while the matching pants feature a hammer loop and knee detailing traditionally found on the workwear brand’s Double Knee pants. This sleepwear appears in a soft seasonal color palette that combines dark purple, beige and gold hues, executed in a Paisley print pattern from Liberty Fabric.

This 2-piece set comes with a series of exclusive Liberty London products : an eye mask to match the pajamas and a co-branded graphic tee in white, adorned with a ‘Santa in a Snowy Village’ chest print in LIBERTY’s signature purple color. It’s also adorned with a glittering Carhartt WIP ‘C’ logo. To embellish the Christmas tree, the partners propose a duo of glass balls painted in purple, representing a Santa Claus and a gingerbread man.

Liberty London will also offer a limited number of carry-on suitcases, created for this collaboration by the iconic British luggage brand Globe-Trotter. Each is handcrafted in Nottingham and lined with the Liberty Fabric print featured throughout the collection, while also featuring the Carhartt WIP brand hand-painted on the outer shell.

The Carhartt WIP x Liberty Fabric collection is available from December 1, 2022 in stores and online at carhartt-wip.com and libertylondon.com/uk. Prices range from $30 (£25) for the Christmas tree decorations to $280 (£260) for the pajamas. Please note, except for the pajama set, the other items are only available through Liberty London.
