Iconic workwear brand CARHARTT WIP celebrates the communities that are loyal to it through exclusive collabs. After honoring outdoor enthusiasts by teaming up with Salomon (article available HERE), CARHARTT WIP pays tribute to its rich history in skateboarding by teaming up with Converse CONS.
Just 25 years ago, in 1997, Carhartt WIP lined up its first skate team. Since then, many of the workwear brand’s skateboarders have also joined the Converse CONS family. To highlight this division, the 2 labels worked together to present us with their first special skate shoe duo featuring a Fastbreak and a One Star.
These 2 silhouettes were originally created for basketball. They were then redesigned to be more robust and to compensate for the wear and tear caused by skateboarding tricks.
The Fastbreak and a collaborative One Star have the same look and similar construction. They consist of a suede and leather upper in white and beige tones, with a tonal Converse « Star » logo on the side. This base is contrasted by black elements such as the inner lining, tongue, laces and midsole. To affirm the collab, the CONS branding on the tongue tag is adorned with Carhartt WIP’s iconic light brown « C ». For added comfort and performance, these shoes feature a new-jack CX foam insole. A CONS exclusive gum rubber outsole, which adds grip-resistant traction, completes the design.
Small distinction between the 2 models, on the One Star we find the famous gum reinforcement on the front of the sole.
The Carhartt WIP x Converse CONS Fastbreak & One Star duo will be released on March 31, 2022, at selected retailers such as SNS, Titolo, Asphaltgold or END, as well as online at converse.com and carhartt-wip.com. Prices are set at $110 for the Fastbreak and $100 for the One Star.
