Capsule Kith for Kangol

As part of the upcoming MONDAY PROGRAM of New York streetwear brand KITH, Ronnie Fieg unveils a collaboration with legendary label KANGOL. These pieces are a preview of the brand’s Fall 1 collection.

Very popular in the 90s, KANGOL was considered an urban fashion brand. The headwear beloved by rappers and actors of that era, actually has its roots in the world of English luxury of the 1930s.

KANGOL was founded by Jacques Spreiregen, a World War I veteran. He was one of the main suppliers of berets for the armed forces in World War II. In the 1960s, designers Mary Quant and Pierre Cardin worked for KANGOL. They designed elegant pieces in eye-catching colors that appealed to the rich and famous, such as the Beatles. Later, royalty such as Princess Diana and street culture icons like hip hop artists Run DMC also adopted the wool hat brand.

Part of the KITH Fall 1 collection was teased on the brand’s Instagram account. We could discover jackets and coats in faded pastel colors ranging from black to cream through blue, Brown, grey and purple. In total, the entire Fall 1 collection is based on a palette of 30 colors.

The collab with Kangol includes some of the signature and significant colors of this collection. It’s based on 6 versions of 100% wool bucket hat : sky blue « Helium » and purple blue « Elevation », cream « Hallow », salmon « Molecule », old pink « French Clay » and grey « Argon ». Each piece is embellished with the famous white KANGOL Kangaroo logo, accompanied for the occasion by the KITH branding.

The Capsule KITH for KANGOL will be released on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11:00 am in all the brand’s boutiques and on kith.com.
