BRAIN DEAD, the Los Angeles-based artist collective, continues to present eye-catching and bold collabs. After working with Asics in 2021 (articles available on this site), the streetwear brand is teaming up with legendary Italian label Sergio Tacchini for an exclusive collection.
This collaboration fuses the classic 80’s sportswear aesthetic of Sergio Tacchini with the 90’s skatewear inspired subcultural style of Brain Dead.
The capsule consists of 2 tennis kits. We discover sets of tracksuits, polo shirts, shorts, headbands, socks, bucket hats and terrycloth wristbands. These pieces are made from materials frequently used at the time : velvet and nylon, as well as heavy cotton. They are presented in blue or black and embellished with white/red, white/green, white/yellow, white/black, white/blue checkerboard patterns. Contrasting stripes and the fusion of Sergio Tacchini and Brain Dead logos ensure the look and assert the collab.
The Brain Dead x Sergio Tacchini « Tennis Collection » will be released on March 1, 2022 at 10am PST at the Brain Dead studio in Los Angeles and Harajuku, Japan, as well as at Dover Street Market in Los Angeles, London, New York and Ginza. It should arrive next on the Italian brand’s website sergiotacchini.com. Prices range from $30 to $280.
