The BODEGA shop always looks for strong and exceptional themes to imagine its collections and design collaborations. After recently working with adidas and Hoka, the famed Boston store has teamed up with historic brand VANS to design an OG Chukka LX “Mid-Top Modern” pack.
This sneaker offering draws its inspiration from the post-war period of the mid-century, when military attire appeared on the street and in resale stores. The former soldiers still wore some of the uniform and thus created new styles of street fashion. This era also recalls the beginnings of the famous VANS brand as a small rubber company in Anaheim, California. It revolutionized the sneaker industry by manufacturing its shoes on site and selling them directly to the consumer.
So this collab moves away from VANS‘ specialties of surfing and skateboarding and back to its roots.
The OG Chukka LX “Mid-Top Modern” pack includes 2 colorways : Old Pink/Brown ‘Rubber’-Black and Off White/Brown ‘Rubber’.
The 1st variation consists of an upper in old pink ‘sunset’ suede, complemented by white stitching and black metal eyelets. Round laces also black and a brown rubber lining ensure the look. The whole sis based on a black sole.
The 2nd version features a white canvas upper with brown lining and matching eyelets. The retro look is confirmed by a brown sole.
Both pairs have a blue inner lining, a mesh tongue and a black/yellow Vans retro tag sewn on the collar. To affirm the collab, the BODEGA branding is delicately engraved on the gold metal laces.
The Bodega x Vault by Vans OG Chukka LX “Mid-Top Modern” pack will be released on April 14, 2023 at 6pm for $115, in stores and online at bdgastore.com, on a first come, first served basis. Be ready and good luck !
