Combining eye-catching design with advanced thinking, the famous BODEGA shop regularly offers us successful collaborations. Having recently worked with Crocs, the famous Boston boutique is now back with its NEW BALANCE neighbors to bring its touch to the NB 610.
This next opus follows the highly successful Bodega x New Balance 9060 “Age of Discovery”, released in December 2022.
Having disappeared from store shelves 11 years ago, the NB 610 model has become an obsession for the Bodega team. The team found it insufficiently appreciated and wanted to reinvent it so that it could finally receive the love it deserved. Through this collaborative pair, Bodega wanted to convey a positive message of freedom, courage and self-confidence. For inspiration, the members of BODEGA met Hubert, a native New Yorker better known as “Live Action”. As a child, Hubert watched pigeons in awe. He later became 100% committed to his passion and developed the art and science of pigeon breeding.
The shop commented : “when we thought about what we wanted to express in our latest collaboration with our family at New Balance, encouraging people to get out and find their true calling was our priority…And what better way to focus on what’s important than by feeling free as a bird when it comes to shoes ?”
This reinvented NB 610 sports an eye-catching outdoor look and is adorned with an iridescent color palette inspired by the plumage of the famous pigeons. It consists of a greenish-blue mesh upper with grey suede and black synthetic leather overlays. To complete the look boldly, the pair features reflective 3M accents, a lavender blue inner lining, a golden beige co-branded insole, light blue tongue and heel pulls, and purple or orange fabric lace eyelets. Grey accents the iconic N logo on the side, and the suede tongue features a triangular co-branding tag. The shoe features a hiking-inspired quick lacing system, which can be interchanged, and a grey/black technical midsole with a sky-blue under-heel section. The whole rests on a black non-slip outsole with touches of sky blue, orange and golden beige on certain studs.
This collaborative sneaker will be delivered in a special box, accompanied by 2 extra sets of laces and a co-branding hangtag.
The Bodega x New Balance ML610TB1 “The Trail Less Taken” will be released on June 9, 2023 online at bdgstore.com and in stores on a “1st come, 1st served” basis, before launching on newbalance.com on June 14, 2023. Get ready !
