After having recently revisited the New Balance X-Racer (article available HERE), the Boston streetwear boutique BODEGA could bring a new touch to a silhouette already reworked last year, the NB 997S. Nothing is confirmed to date. However, the pair seen at the feet of Los Angeles Clippers’ star Kawhi Leonard, seems to be the next collaboration between the two labels.
The construction of this shoe is reminiscent of the Bodega x New Balance 997S « No Bad Days » released in September 2019.
The pair consists of a various colors upper combining several materials. We find a light beige mesh base with deep blue suede overlays on the front of the foot and dark beige leather on the middle of the sneaker, joining the light beige laces. Red, black, neon green and purple accents appear on the back of the shoe, adding a nice touch of contrast. The iconic N logo, peach-colored on the side and purple on the medial side, add pep to the pair. The rubber tongue label features the same lightening bolt logo as on the previous two Bodega x NB 997S versions. This little extra detail really makes us believe that this pair is the result of a new collaboration between the two brands. The whole is based on a grey, sand and black ABZORB sole with ENCAP cushioning.
At this time, no official confirmation has surfaced concerning the probable new collaboration Bodega x New Balance 997S. But updates usually arrive very quickly, stay tuned !
