BLACK COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Eagle

Successful collaborators, the Japanese brand COMME des GARÇONS and the American giant NIKE unveil a new project. After a special Air Max 97 presented in January (article available HERE), it’s the turn of the sub-label BLACK COMME des GARÇONS to partner with the Swoosh brand to revisit an almost forgotten model : the Eagle.

The Nike Eagle was first launched in 1980 as a running shoe. With its status as the « lightest shoe ever produced », it seduced runners and became a legend when the famous Alberto Salazar won the 1980 New York Marathon wearing this pair.

This is the first time ever that the Nike Eagle has been reissued.

True to the signature style of the CdG sub-label, this collaborative sneaker features the « Triple Black » colorway. It consists of a nylon upper with suede overlays. The inner lining is presented in leather, as is the iconic side Swoosh. To complete the design, the CDG logo adorns the heel tab in tone-on-tone and co-branding appears in white on the insole. A classic white tongue tag with black and orange lettering finalizes the look. The whole is based on an all-black sole.

The BLACK COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Eagle will be released on March 18, 2022 exclusively in Japan, at CdG stores, as well as on doverstreetmarket.com, priced at 242$ (28 600¥).
