Popular Los Angeles streetwear brand PLEASURES is working on several ambitious projects this August 2022. While the first images of a collaboration with ASICS based on the GEL-Lyte III silhouette have been posted, a capsule collection created with the succession of the late Harlem rapper BIG L will be offered to us soon.
This collection pays tribute to the legacy and the music of the famous artist who died in 1999.
It aims to inform and educate young people about Lamont « Big L » Coleman, the rapper, poet and songwriter with the fast flow, freestyles and legendary puns.
Also referred to as L Corleone, Lamont exploded onto the underground hip-hop scene in 1992 by captivating his audience. In 1993, he founded the group Children of The Corn (in reference to the 1984 Stephen King film of the same name) with his friends Camron, Mase, Blooshed and Herb Mcgruff. In a short time, Big L has released mixtapes and albums that have become classics, with 2 singles ranked in the Billboard top 25.
The capsule captures the sharp wit, style and tough attitude of BIG L. It includes 90s-inspired jackets, hoodies and t-shirts. Available in white, black, brown or light grey, some pieces feature BIG L illustrations, others commemorative messages or a « Flambloyant » print celebrating the Harlem rapper’s classic track.
The BIG L x PLEASURES capsule will be released in limited edition on August 26, 2022 at 10am pst via the streetwear brand’s website, pleasuresnow.com. Be ready !
