Last April, the iconic Japanese streetwear brand BAPE teased a new upcoming collab with New Balance based on the 57/40 silhouette (article available HERE). Details on this capsule and a confirmation of release date have just surfaced.
Initially presented as a duo of collaborative sneakers, this capsule finally includes 3 special versions of the NB 57/40 and some textile pieces.
In addition to the previously unveiled grey and pink/blue colorways, a green-shaded iteration has been announced.
These pairs consist of an upper combining mesh with suede and leather. The famous N logo on the side appears covered with the BAPE signature ABC camo print and the shark pattern surrounds the top of the heel. To affirm the collab, the tongue tag and insole feature the co-branding. « A BATHING APE » and the Ape head logo adorn the side heel. The whole is based on a thick white midsole with a black wavy heel clip, as well as a black rubber outsole.
This trio of BAPE x NB 57/40 will be accompanied by graphic hoodies and t-shirts, as well as shorts and a baseball caps featuring white embroidered co-branding. To match the sneakers, these items are available in 3 colors : grey, dark red and khaki beige.
The BAPE x New Balance 57/40 trio and apparel collection will be released exclusively on July 27, 2022 on bape.com for a price of around $160, before being available in BAPE stores on July 30, 2022. A wider release will take place on newbalance.com a little later. Don’t sleep !
