BAPE x COMME des GARÇONS

After having presented us a futuristic-minimalist collab with the French brand Salomon (article available HERE), the Japanese label COMME des GARÇONS unveils a new part of its partnership with BAPE of retro inspiration.

With this new opus, the 2 Japanese flagship brands take us back to the late 90s-early 2000s.

The collection revisits the hip-hop roots of the brand founded by NIGO. BAPE is one of the brands that have created a link between rap artists and fashion. This capsule reintroduces classic pieces from that era. Unlike usual, they do not feature BAPE’s signature camo patterns.

We find a shiny grey or navy blue football jersey, adorned with CdG and Ape Head logos on the chest, alongside the brandings, flocking on the back and details on the sleeves. It’s accompanied by a pair of raw blue jeans with white branding on the front and back pockets, as well as 3 styles of t-shirts : one white and short with the Ape Head surrounded by « CDG OSAKA » and « BAPE » on the chest, the other white or black with the famous COMME des GARÇONS gold chain print, and the last one white and wide with an oversized and faded Ape Head on the chest, with the COMME des GARÇONS branding vertical. To complete the outfit, the collection includes a co-branded cap and socks.

This new BAPE x COMME des GARÇONS collection will be released on April 29, 2022, exclusively in the BAPE shop at the COMME des GARÇONS boutique in Osaka, Japan.
