The legendary Japanese brand BAPE and the German sportswear giant ADIDAS unveil a new part of their fruitful collaboration. After offering us a Superstar « Camo » last year, the 2 partners are back together to present us a simple and timeless version « Black ».
This new two-tone black/white offering appears to be a revisit into the classic adidas Superstar of the 1970s-80s.
The iconic pair consists of a smooth leather upper in black, contrasted with white logos, BAPE shooting star on one side and adidas 3 Stripes on the other. The heel tab is also dressed in white leather and features a black « BAPE STA » embroidery. To complete the look, gold-colored elements stand out, such as the tongue tag featuring the BAPE head and the adidas slogan in French « La marque aux 3 bandes », the A BATHING APE and adidas SUPERSTAR brandings on each side of the foot, as well as the retro 80’s metallic dubrae embossed with the BAPE name. A white inner lining and matching insole ensure the look. True to the DNA of the Superstar, the toe box is made of white rubber. The whole is based on an off-white sole that adds the final harmonious touch to the design.
