BAPE STA – Summer 2021

After presenting us with a collaboration with the legendary British label Fred Perry (article available HERE), the Japanese reference brand BAPE enriches its sneaker range by unveiling its 2021 summer collection.

For this next drop, A Bathing Ape has put aside its famous Bapesta, inspired by the Nike Air Force 1 Low, in favor of 2 less popular silhouettes : the SK8 Sta and the Sta High 93. These sneakers also appear as a nod to Nike’s signature silhouettes. More specifically, the Dunks, in Low and High versions. BAPE could surf on the hyper popularity of these silhouettes to put forward its original versions.

The SK8 Sta is declined in 3 colorways : Black/White/Camo, ABC Camo and Grey/Red. The first two iterations are dressed in leather while the third is made with suede. All 3 versions feature the famous glossy shooting star logo on the side panels and the 93 plate on the heel counter. A two-tone sole completes the design.

The Sta HIgh 93 features an upper combining smooth grey leather and black grained leather overlays. For a touch of contrast, the side support inserts at the upper and lower eyelets are presented in red suede. The BAPE side shooting star completes the look with its bright white color. We find a black 93 badge on the heel counter and a two-tone black-red sole.

The BAPE STA Summer 2021 collection is set to release on July 17, 2021, at select retailers and online at bape.com. For the latest official details, stay tuned.
