The Californian retailer BAIT continues to honor superheroes. After offering us a fuchsia pink Mizuno Wave Rider 1 featuring Deadpool (article available HERE), Eric Cheng’s shop is back with the One Punch Man franchise to celebrate the powerful SAITAMA character on the adidas Montreal 76 silhouette.
BAIT and One Punch Man have already collaborated on textile pieces. This time, they joined forces with the German firm adidas to let their imagination run wild on an iconic sneaker that marked the 1976 Olympic Games, the Montreal.
This collaborative shoe is dressed in a color palette of yellow, red and white referring to the Saitama outfit. It consists of a soft yellow suede upper with red elements such as the iconic adidas 3-Stripes, heel, inner lining and tongue. The design is completed with Saitama graphics on the side of the triple tongue branding and on the insole. The latter is covered with a powerful illustration of this hero. As for other branding details, the white adidas Trefoil and Saitama’s face coupled with the BAIT logo appear on the left and right heel tabs respectively. The famous rubber heel counter corresponding to a sole elevation comes in white color and features the red ONE PUNCH MAN inscription on the back. The tribute is finalized with gold leaf applied side branding.
The BAIT x One Punch Man x adidas Montreal 76 « Saitama » will be released on June 30, 2021 in BAIT US stores and online via a raffle set up at https://www.baitme.com/bait-one-punch-man-adidas-montreal. The price is set at 120$ and sizesrun US 4 to US 14.
