Earlier this month, Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny and German giant adidas confirmed a long-term partnership, which includes designing collaborative projects throughout the coming seasons. After a first Forum Buckle Low revisited sneaker named « The First Café », the two partners unveil a pink iteration referencing the upcoming Easter holiday.
On his work with adidas, Bad Bunny commented, « Today it’s great to create my own design with like-minded people. It’s amazing to know that my next steps will be in my own sneakers ! »
The basketball shoe, reimagined by the successful singer-rapper, features a premium design and a bold color palette reminiscent of the famous Easter eggs.
It consists of an upper combining leather, suede and satin canvas in various shades of pink. Bad Bunny’s touch brings new features, such as the integrated bootie, double tongue, midfoot buckle strap and the new lacing system that attaches to the back of the heel with a lock lace. In terms of branding details, the iconic adidas 3-Stripes adorn the side panels, the co-branding appears on the insole, the artist’s signature « third eye » is affixed to the tongue. We also find the title of the song « Yo Visto Asi » embroidered on the inside of the strap. A little nod to the connoisseurs because it’s in this song that Bad Bunny sings « Boté to’las Nike, firmé con adidas » (I dropped the Nike, I signed with Adidas). The whole is based on a semi-translucent pink midsole combined with a pink-peach outsole. The final touch to the design is bringing by the artist’s rabbit logo, visible under the foot through the translucent circle.
The pair comes in a co-branded fabric bag and includes two additional sets of laces also referencing the Easter holiday, in yellow and blue colors.
