The founder of the AWAKE NY brand, Angelo Baque, has teased on his Instagram account an upcoming collaboration with the Japanese company Asics. After the success of the GEL-Kayano 5 360 released last year, the two partners met to propose us a new project with a design that seems bold.
Although the photo published by the former Supreme member shows only the heel of the shoe in profile, we can already get an idea of the bold design and the great attention to detail.
The shoe consists of an upper combining light grey mesh, royal blue leather and metallic silver, with turquoise accents. An elegant grey and black leopard print covering the upper adds cachet to the pair. The grey inner lining and leopard print tongue harmonize the design. The Asics logo and model name appear embroidered with white thread on the side and back of the sneaker respectively. The whole is based on an off-white midsole with GEL technology, but not a full 360 as in the previous collaboration. Mint and silver accents on the midsole and a black rubber outsole complete the look.
The Awake NY x Asics is expected to be released as part of the Fall/Winter 2020 collection, no date has been given as of yet. More pics and details to come, stay tuned…
